A STUN GUN is a legal* electronic device that puts out a high voltage, low amperage shock.
Stun guns work by passing a high voltage pulse through a person's muscle and nervous system. It dumps its energy into the muscles at a high pulse frequency that makes the muscles work very rapidly, but not efficiently. This rapid work cycle depletes blood sugar by converting it into lactic acid all in just seconds. The resulting energy loss makes it difficult to move and function. At the same time, the tiny neurological impulses that travel throughout the body to direct muscle movement are interrupted. This will cause the person to feel weak, disoriented and have loss of balance for several minutes, giving you time to get away. A one-half second contact will repel and startle an attacker, making them think twice about continuing an attack. One to two seconds of contact will cause muscle spasms and a dazed mental state. Contact for at least 3 to 5 seconds will cause loss of balance and muscle control, mental confusion and disorientation.
Stun guns are safe to use, and the person using it will not receive a shock, even if they are in contact with the attacker. Generally the higher the voltage of the stun gun, the quicker and more devastating the effects will be. Additionally, the bright arc and snapping sound that a stun gun makes can have a startling effect on the attacker, making them think twice about continuing an attack. Even firing a stun gun in the air can create a deterrent effect and dissuade potential attackers from choosing you as their victim. It's important to note that stun guns should only be used as a last resort in situations where self-defense is necessary. It's also crucial to familiarize yourself with the laws surrounding stun gun usage in your area before acquiring and using one.
*We cannot ship stun guns to certain states and cities due to regulations. Check our Stun Guns Laws to see if they are restricted in your area.
