The PD9-500 is a wireless video transmitter with receiver capable of sending audio and video 700 to 1000 ft. with unobstructed view. The 900 MHz frequency also gives the unit better penetrating ability than the 2.4 GHz and higher analog frequencies. This also means no interference from common wireless devices such as cordless phones and wireless routers. The 4 channel operation allows for multiple transmitters to be used in the same location.
Signal distances whether line of sight or with obstacles can also be increased by replacing the dipole antennas with higher gain directional ones. Directional antennas concentrate the signals into a narrower beam resulting in greater distance and less interference. These types of antennas are generally of the Panel, Yagi or Grid configuration and by using an extension cable can be placed remotely from the transmitter or receiver possibly improving line of sight.
