PoE (power-over-ethernet) switches allow devices on a network to
communicate. They transmit data and can provide power to connected devices such as IP cameras, VoIP devices or Wireless Access Points
through the CAT5e/6 network cables. They come in different port capacities and power outputs, the 802.3af standard provides 15.4
watts of power, the 802.3at standard (PoE+) can deliver up to 30 watts over Cat 5 cables with 25.5
watts available to devices. If you only need to power one or two devices a PoE Injector can be used.
