Security video recording is quickly advancing from standard analog to high definition. The reason is simply better image resolution which makes identification and evidence gathering much more reliable and efficient. AHD (Analog High Definition} video recorders combine high resolution video with ease of installation since existing video cables such as RG59 can be used and video runs up to 1500 feet are possible. There is also no network knowledge needed to setup the cameras or record and playback video. For applications where CAT5 or CAT6 cables are preferred video baluns can be used for a distance up to 492 feet.

The tribrid technology allows users to combine their existing analog cameras with the newer HD cameras so upgrading can be gradual and more cost effective. The AHD DVR can also be used to view and record many IP cameras that are Onvif compliant. Full network control of the DVR such as viewing, configuration and playback is available from computers or laptops. Remote viewing and playback from mobile devices such as smart phones is available using the VMEYE app for Android and iPhone.
